Born and raised in Quebec, he learned English at 35 and designed his first collection at 38. Today, with his eccentric leather cuts and sophisticated tailoring, Denis Gagnon is lauded as one of Canada’s most significant fashion designers.

“It’s like I jump into water and I have to swim,” he says. “I never know how I’m going to get to the beach.”

Not only is he getting to the beach, he’s making waves along the way. He’s also telling all of us, “It’s really never too late if you’re prepared to work hard”
